Definitely an older looking restaurant and the food service leaves a little to be desired but the menu, although somewhat tedious, has everything and this place has one of the best restaurant bars in town. Not a fine dining place (but what is in State College??) but definitely fun and quirky for casual date nights.

Coming from a region in LA that is just infested with incredible east asian food offerings, it's hard to be impressed by what F&J has to offer. Arrogance aside, the mabodoufu was very tasty and what I ate most of the night. Our appetizer, the chili cabbage, was interesting, to say the least, a kind of sweet kimchi-esque dish. The other dishes -- some shrimp garlic and vegetable fried rice -- were unremarkable, just mush of oyster and soy sauce.Best thing of the night was that the liquor is extremely reasonable. A whole tumbler of (strong!) Whiskey Sour was $4.

I suppose if I still drank booze I would love this place because it would either make the food and lack of good service palatable, or I wouldn't be hungry because let's face it, why eat when there's so many awesome alcoholic beverages!Asian places in S.C. might want to take into account that a huge menu with various asian cuisines does not make for an enjoyable meal. It means you're usually not good at any of them. Focus on one and stay there. I've had the Bento boxes and the tempura was soggy. I've had the hibatchi dinners which turned out over-salted and dry. The service was slow and surly. It's not difficult to tell that this place also owns My Thai and Penang and something else I can't recall...because their "coupons" are identical in terms of how they appear in the mailer.I will say that My Thai is the one place I'll go for lunch and that's because the service, albeit unfriendly is tolerable, but a few of their dishes are very good. It's fun to watch the non-Thai servers eat with chopsticks in a Thai restaurant as well, since it allows me to do the same!

I've been there a few times and love it. They have two menus - one Japanese (primarily sushi) and one Chinese. Their duck is amazing, their sushi is good for the area, and they have a hibachi grill (which I've never actually sat at). ...?

The hibachi here is one of the best I've ever tried and my wife and I have been to a few. I'd recommend going on a night where they are doing a bit of business, however, because on a quiet night life a Sunday they can be a little unfocused. ...?

Delicious Sushi! It made my top 5 sushi list of all time because of the spicy tuna wrapped in cucumber. The soba noodle dish was flavorful, fresh, and a great portion! My date and I ate 3 rolls and a soba dish for under $30. ...?
